Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, said he was shocked when he embarked on project monitoring and discovered that two major projects that were uncompleted were actually commissioned by his predecessor.
Okpebholo disclosed this on his verified X handle, saying he was appalled that a government could mislead its people by commissioning uncompleted projects.
According to him, during his inspection of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital and the Education Hub at Iyaro, he was disappointed to have discovered that both projects, which were previously “commissioned,” remain largely uncompleted.
He wrote: “It is wrong to mislead our people with uncompleted projects.
Governance must be about integrity and accountability.
“We have now directed immediate action to complete the hospital—currently at about 60% and ensure it is fully functional before Christmas. The same will be done for the Iyaro Education Hub to make it operational and purposeful.
“Our administration will not engage in cosmetic governance. Every project started will be completed and made to serve Edo people. That is the promise of Practical Governance.”
