A 28-year-old elder brother has been arrested by men of the Ondo State Police Command after he attacked his three younger sisters with a machete and killed them in the process.
The man, Femi Agbeye, was arrested after committing the gruesome act in the Okitipupa area of the state on Tuesday, April 7, over an undisclosed reason.
It was gathered that their father, Mr Segun Agbeye, of New Site, Doctors Road, Okitipupa, reported at the police station that his son attacked his three daughters with a machete in his absence, resulting in their untimely deaths.
The names of those killed were given as Bose Agbeye (aged 20), Dupe Agbeye (aged 7) and Blessiing Agbeye (aged 5).
On receiving the report, operatives of the command swiftly mobilised to the scene, where the victims were found lifeless. Their remains were taken away and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Morgue, Okitipupa, for preservation and autopsy.
In what the command described as “a prompt and coordinated operation,” the man was apprehended on the same day and was said to have given more useful information about the dastardly act.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation and he is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
