The end of the road has come for a man described as a wanted and notorious kidnapper as he has been arrested by men of the Nigerian Army after carrying out his last abduction where he demanded the sum of N20 million as ransom from his victim’s family.

Troops of 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), arrested the man, Umar Musa Geyi, in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State after months of carrying out his devilish activities and evading justice.

It was gathered that the troops apprehended him on Saturday, November 22, at Jandei-Kulamu And he was discovered to be a key member of a kidnapping syndicate that has terrorised several communities within the area.

In a statement on Sunday, the Nigerian Army said preliminary investigations indicated that he was linked to the kidnapping of Alhaji Jano, a resident of the Jandei-Kulala general area, who was abducted on November 13 inside his home.

Geyi was said to have been arrested after troops intercepted him during a phone conversation in which he confirmed the victim was still being held and demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for his release.

The suspect is currently in custody undergoing further interrogation to determine the exact location of the victim and facilitate his safe rescue.

Efforts are also being intensified to arrest others believed to be members of his notorious gang.
