The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works, has announced that it will flag off the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode road on Monday, August 24.
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this in letters inviting prominent Nigerians to the flag-off ceremony. One of the letters was addressed to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
According to the minister, the flag-off will hold at the Ibadan end of the road, specifically at the Open Field of Legacy Estate along Idi Ayunre by 11:00 a.m.
The contract for the dualisation of the over 80-kilometre road was awarded to Messrs JRB Construction Limited and the minister had promised that the dualisation would be completed on time.
“This initiative, undertaken as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President, aims to improve the travel experience for road users while fostering economic growth and sustainability within the region,” the minister said.
