President Bola Tinubu on Friday, August 21, ordered the arrest of the promoter of a fake agency found in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The president also ordered the suspension of three Permanent Secretaries in the office of the SGF following the discovery of the agency.
It was gathered that the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) uncovered the agency, National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, operating inside the SGF’s office without presidential authorisation.
ICPC Chairman, Musa Adamu Aliyu, named Prince George Buchi Nwabueze as the alleged promoter, while ollaborators inside the SGF office are said to be currently under suspicion.
The discovery came during probes into the earlier fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and weak government checks.
President Tinubu therefore ordered Nwabueze’s immediate arrest and also ordered the suspension of the three Permanent Secretaries: M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard Pheelangwah.
