Four executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been suspended by the national leadership of the party in another move that has further divided the party ahead of its November convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Those suspended were the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; National Organising Secretary, Honourable Umar Bature; National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade and the Deputy National Legal Adviser, Mr Okechukwu Osuoha.
They were suspended for one month and their cases have been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action.
The party took the decision at the 608th National Working Committee meeting held at the party secretariat on Saturday, November 1.
“During this period of the suspension, they cease to function in their respective capacities.

“In the case of the National Secretary, Pursuant to Section 36(2) of our constitution as amended in 2017, the Deputy National Secretary, Honourable Setonji Koshoedo, shall act as the National Secretary.

“In the case of the National Legal Adviser and the Deputy National Legal Adviser, the National Director of Legal Services is hereby directed to oversee the activities of the Department.”

It will be recalled that a court in Abuja on Friday stopped the planned national convention of the party.
