Chairman of Seplat Energy, Mr Tony Elumelu, on Thursday, September 10, displayed his business card when he started working as a photocopier sales representative.
Elumelu, who just left the position of Chairman of United Bank for Africa, displayed the business card on his verified X handle, which indicated a humble beginning for a man that is now a billionaire.
In the business card, Elumelu was the Sales Executive with the Precissa Sales Limited with its head office at Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos State.
Writing on the issue, Elumelu said: “I stumbled upon my old business card from my early days as a photocopier salesperson.
“It brought back memories of being a young, hungry sales representative, learning the fundamentals of resilience, negotiation, and grit.
“Those lessons have stayed with me over the years and continue to shape how I approach business and engage with customers today.
“It’s also a reminder that who you become tomorrow is often shaped by the foundation you lay today; the discipline, hard work, and consistency you put in when no one is watching.
“Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep executing. As for the phone number and address on the card? Long gone.”
