The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has started attending lectures at the Northwest University in the Faculty of Law for his Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree.
Sanusi was given a ‘special admission’ by the institution into the 200-Level Common and Sharia Law programme of the institution through an admission letter issued to him.
However, the traditional ruler started receiving lectures on Tuesday, January 20, alongside other students of the faculty.
In fact, when he entered the classroom, he complied with the instructions given by the authorities of the faculty by writing his name in the attendance register and he was number six on the register.
In many Law Faculties and other departments in some universities, a student must have 75 per cent attendance before he or she would be allowed to sit for examinations.
In the photographs posted during the lecture session, Sanusi was seen sitting patiently and listening to his lecturer who was giving explanations inside the classroom.
The emir is expected to complete the Law programme in the next two years.
