After spending seven weeks in the den of bandits, a bride, her parents as well as her friends have regained their freedom after payment of ransom.
The bride, her parents and the friends were abducted by bandits during her wedding ceremony in Chacho Village, Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in December, an incident that threw the entire village into confusion.

A source close to the authorities of the local government area told Impact Nigeria News Online on Wednesday, January 21, that the abducted persons regained their freedom on Tuesday evening after the amount demanded by the bandits was paid.
After regaining the freedom, the victims were immediately taken to Isa Hospital close to the village where they are currently receiving treatment.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents, killing some and abducting others.
