A delegation of President Bola Tinubu paid an official visit to Kogi State on Monday to commemorate Governor Usman Ododo’s first year in office, during which he formally inaugurated several significant projects that exemplify the All Progressives Congress’ commitment to driving development and improving the lives of Kogi residents.
The array of projects commissioned during President’s visit included a 9 km stretch of Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction road, a 5.5 km Zone 8 – 8-Crusher Road, as well as 350-bed hostels for students enrolled at the Confluence University of Science and Technology.
Others are the Demonstration Farm, two faculties in the university and some Private Health Centres across the state.
The president’s delegation, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, included the APC National Chairman Umar Ganduje and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo.
They were welcomed and received by Ododo, his deputy, Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, Commissioners and other government officials.
Governor Ododo, accompanied by Vice President Shettima and his contingent, visited the Zone Round About in Lokoja Local Government Area, where they officially launched three road infrastructure projects.
The presidential delegation then proceeded to the Muhamadu Buhari Civics Center for the anniversary celebration. Addressing the President’s delegation; Ododo said “The projects were a demonstration of our desire to improve the wellbeing of the people of Kogi.”
Governor Ododo asserted that the array of infrastructure projects dispersed across the state were in fulfillment of his election campaign pledges.
He expressed gratitude to his predecessors for establishing the necessary groundwork that enabled him to continue the journey towards the state’s advancement and improvement, paving the way for more significant developments in the future.
