Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has emerged as a summer transfer target for Serie A giants Inter Milan, according to reports from Soccernet.ng.
The 27-year-old attacker has been in sensational form since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, contributing 52 goals and 25 assists in just 118 appearances.
Lookman’s standout performances have drawn interest from several top European clubs. Last summer, he was close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but Atalanta opted to keep him. However, with two years left on his current deal and no plans to renew, Atalanta are now open to a sale to avoid losing him for free.
The Nigerian international has been linked with clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus, and Napoli, but no move has materialized yet. Now, Inter Milan have joined the race, with Sportmediaset reporting that new manager Cristian Chivu is keen on adding Lookman to his squad as part of a summer rebuild.
Lookman is reportedly valued at €60 million, a fee Inter could meet, especially after receiving extra revenue from their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are also stepping up interest. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Spanish side have held early talks with Atalanta, eyeing Lookman as a direct replacement for Ángel Correa, who recently joined Tigres UANL.
With several suitors lining up and the new season fast approaching, Lookman will be eager to resolve his future quickly and begin preparations with his next club.
