The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can proceed to print their examination slip.
JAMB announced this in a post on its official X handle on Thursday, April 9, urging candidates to visit its website to download their slips ahead of the examination.
“Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you that Examination Slip Printing is now available. The slip contains details of the venue, date, and time of your examination and gives you access to the examination hall,” JAMB stated in the post.
The announcement comes after JAMB earlier dismissed a viral press release that falsely claimed that the examination had been postponed.
The examination board described the notice as “malicious and fake” and urged candidates to disregard it.
“Our attention has been drawn to the malicious press release stating that the 2026 UTME has been postponed. The general public, particularly the candidates, are by this notice informed that the press release is fake and did not emanate from us. Kindly disregard it,” the statement read.
According to JAMB, the 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The examination body conducted a mock test on Saturday, March 28, which recorded technical difficulties at some computer-based testing (CBT) centres.
It disclosed that out of the 224,597 candidates who registered for the mock examination, 152,586 sat the test across 989 CBT centres nationwide, adding that over 20 centres were delisted for technical inadequacies.
Recall that JAMB had, on February 17, disclosed that it had successfully registered over 1.5 million candidates for the 2026 examination.
A statement by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, noted that although the board has a daily registration capacity of 100,000 candidates, registration centres across the country were operating at barely 30 percent of that capacity.
