Ex governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, has promised to build a 20th century economy if elected president of the country in 2023.

The Ex-governor revealed his intentions while speaking on a radio programme in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.

He said, “The problem is who is capable of doing the job. For now, I am focusing on my constituency there’s a lot to be done.

“If the people of Nigeria want me to be president, they will show the hand. I can do the job. I can build a 20th-century economy for our people.”

Kalu explained his capability to rule Nigeria with the assurance that Nigerians youth would be gainfully employed.

The ex governor had battled with corruption charges levied against him by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for many years that landed him in jail.

However, the Supreme Court in May voided Kalu’s conviction to a 12-year jail term for allegedly stealing about N7.1 billion from Abia State treasury while he served as governor of the state between 1999 and 2007.
