Running mate to the governorship candidate of Kaduna state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Honourable Sunday Marshal Katung has expressed worry over the frequent attacks at Kajuru and crisis at Sanga Local Government areas of Kaduna State.

Katung, who said the attacks and Crisis are becoming “one too many”, expressed sadness over the scale of destruction of lives and properties that have occurred unabated with very little action from the government.

In a press statement he personally signed, Katung said, “When the crises broke out about in Kajuru three weeks ago, we expressed sadness at the comments of our State Government, warning that it could trigger a circle of violence. For as long as government does not treat its citizens with justice, equity and fairness, this unfortunate situation will continue.

“While I sympathize with all grieving families, friends and relations, let me use this opportunity to call on all citizens to eschew violence and embrace peace. I also call on all law enforcement agencies to act swiftly to put an end to this tragedy while bringing culprits to face the law.

“Government should note that lives of our citizens irrespective of demographic, ethnic or religious persuasion should be sacred and should not be sacrificed on the altar of politics of deliberate exclusion. The victims are beginning to ask: Do we still have a functional and responsive government?”

He however, prayed to God to grant strength and fortitude to families and community members of the victims of the attacks and crisis.
