A female passenger who was inside the Air Peace aircraft that entered turbulence during its flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt has given hair-raising details of what transpired during the flight.
The lady, whose X handle is @queenify053, disclosed in her post that she boarded the early morning 6.40 a.m. flight and slept off shortly after takeoff but woke up some minutes minutes later to screams from other passengers as the plane had entered turbulence.
She wrote: “Today was another assurance and reassurance of God’s unconditional love, mercy, and protection over my life.
“This morning, I set out to join our Community Healing outreach in Port Harcourt. I wanted to surprise the team because over the years of Community Healing, I have never joined the Port Harcourt team. I’ve always participated from Lagos. This time, I decided it was Port Harcourt’s turn.
“I boarded the early morning 6.40 a.m. flight and slept off shortly after takeoff.
“Along the way, the pilot announced that we would hover for a while because the weather in Port Harcourt was too poor for landing. After about 40 minutes, another announcement came that the weather had improved and we had been cleared to proceed.
“A few minutes later, I woke up to screams. Children were crying. Adults were shouting. Some were praying loudly, others confessing sins. Everywhere I turned, people were calling on God. The turbulence was unlike anything I have ever experienced in all my years of flying, both locally and internationally. The aircraft was being tossed from side to side. It was very terrifying.
“Yet, in the middle of that chaos, God gave me a peace I cannot explain. I simply closed back my eyes and talked to God in my heart.
“I reminded Him of His promises. I reminded Him of this assignment He had sent me. I thanked Him because I knew this would not be my end. I kept saying to myself, my beautiful pictures will not be used for obituary nor remembrance. God is not done with me yet.
“The passenger sitting beside me could not understand how I remained so calm while fear filled the cabin. But I knew whose child I am, and I knew that God was with us.
“After several long minutes in the air, the pilot made the wise decision to return to Lagos. We landed safely and waited for the weather to improve by afternoon. When boarding resumed later, many passengers chose not to continue the journey. The experience had shaken them deeply.
“But by God’s grace, we eventually took off again and landed safely in Port Harcourt.
“Today reminded me that peace is not the absence of a storm. Peace is knowing that God is in the storm with you. I am grateful for God’s protection. I am grateful for His faithfulness. I am grateful for life.
“And to the pilot who skillfully navigated that storm and prioritised our safety, thank you. As I stepped off the aircraft, I made sure to thank him. To God alone be all the glory.
“Please help me thank God today. My testimony is simple: God preserved my life once again.”
