To address mounting traffic congestion along the Lekki-Epe corridor, the Lagos State Government will begin enforcing a new technology-driven E-Call Up System on Monday, June 16, 2025. The move aims to streamline truck movement and reduce gridlock on the busy industrial route.
The corridor hosts major facilities including the Dangote Refinery and Lekki Deep Sea Port. Daily truck traffic currently ranges between 360 and 400, but officials warn that this could rise to 4,000 as industrial operations scale up.
Transport Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi said truck operators must now register online and upload their Authority To Load (ATL) documents. Only validated trucks will be allowed into designated parks, where they’ll await electronic clearance before proceeding.
“This system will eliminate indiscriminate parking, safeguard infrastructure, and improve traffic flow,” Osiyemi stated during a TVC News interview.
The E-Call Up System forms part of Lagos State’s broader push to modernize logistics in key industrial zones. Authorities are urging stakeholders—truckers, companies, and communities—to support the initiative.
With enforcement set to begin, the government is reinforcing its commitment to smarter, safer, and more efficient urban mobility.
