The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has reaffirmed loyalty as a foundational pillar in the ongoing transformation of the Nigerian Army.
Speaking on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at an interdenominational church service marking the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), Oluyede described loyalty as essential to institutional strength and operational effectiveness.
Held at the All Saints Military Church (Protestant), Army Headquarters Garrison, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, the service offered a moment of reflection and gratitude. “NADCEL is not just a celebration – it’s a time to reflect on the sacrifices and dedication of our officers and soldiers,” Oluyede said.
He paid tribute to troops in active operations and honoured fallen heroes, urging all personnel to remain steadfast, courageous, and resilient. The Army Chief also reiterated efforts to enhance combat readiness through modern training and equipment, alongside strengthening joint and inter-agency collaborations.
Expressing appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders, Oluyede pledged unwavering loyalty to the Constitution and the Nigerian people. In his sermon, Lt. Col. Martins Amuluche emphasized loyalty as both a moral and spiritual duty that inspires courage, discipline, and service.
