The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has firmly denied circulating rumours about the removal of Senator George Akume, CON, from his position as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
In a statement released on Saturday, June 28, 2025, the OSGF dismissed the reports as “entirely false” and “without factual basis,” affirming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has neither dismissed Akume nor has any intention to do so.
Signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, the statement reaffirmed President Tinubu’s full confidence in Senator Akume and his ongoing role in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The OSGF urged the media and public to disregard the misinformation and emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing. The statement also echoed an earlier clarification from Chief Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, which supported the OSGF’s position.
