Manchester City goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, has tied the knot with his longtime lover, Alessia Elefante in Italy, the Daily Mail of UK reported on Sunday, July 26.
Donnarumma, aged 27, married his childhood sweetheart at the Chiesa Madre di San Giorgio Martire in Locorotondo, on Friday.
While Alessia, aged 29, looked every inch the doting bride in a strapless lace corseted gown with sheer polka dot arm sleeves, Donnarumma wore a white tuxedo jacket with smart black tailored trousers.
The couple were seen throwing their arms up as they walked out the doors of the church as husband and wife.
The groom’s football mates were in attendance, including Pep Guardiola, Sandro Tonali, Paolo Maldini and Nicolo Barella.
Erling Haaland was also in attendance with his partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen.
In a video shared on social media, the footballer could be seen behind the drum during the chant.
The routine sees one person set a rhythm by striking a drum twice before everyone seated nearby leans back and forth in unison, chanting the word as they go.
Their wedding came after the pair quietly completed a civil marriage earlier this year.
They announced the news on Instagram in May with a post that read: ‘Long-term contract signed.’
Although they had known each other for years, the pair officially started dating in 2016.
This was at the time Donnarumma was emerging as one of Europe’s brightest goalkeeping talents at AC Milan.
