A man has counseled residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on the need to be careful when they embark on early morning jogging, saying armed robbers now target such residents.

The man, whose X handle is @icekied, gave the words of caution while narrating two incidents he witnessed where the robbers attacked those jogging very early in the morning around when it was still dark.

According to him, the robbers, who are mostly three on motorcycles, would park by the person along the road and collect valuables, mostly phones and headsets while brandishing weapons, including pistols, daggers and machetes.

According to him, the first incident witnessed by him was at the Shoprite Bridge along the Airport Road when three robbers on motorcycle suddenly attacked a woman jogging around 5:39 a.m., collecting her phone, headset and other items in her possession.

He added that as he saw the attacked being carried out, he had no choice but to cross to the other side of the road because he was also with his phone and headset as he was also jogging.

He stated that the second incident he witnessed occurred at the Games Village in front of Berekete Radio Station when a young man was attacked while jogging around 6:00 a.m. and all the items on him were taken away by the three robbers on motorcycle.

He therefore urged residents who jog early in the morning to wait till the day is a little bit bright before leaving home for the exercise.
