A man, Abraham Udonu, has narrated how kidnappers killed his elder brother after the family paid ransom twice.
In a Facebook post he made on Monday, August 3, Udonu stated that his brother, Israel Edwin Udonu, was kidnapped alongside his brother-in-law and another man in Obajana, Kogi State, on May 24 this year.
He added that the kidnappers later released the brother-in-law and the other man after ransom was paid twice along with two motorcycles and other items, adding that they however killed Israel.
Displaying the obituary poster on his page, he said despite the fact that his body could not be found, the family will hold a service of songs in his honour on Tuesday, August 4, in Kaduna State.
He wrote: “My elder brother was kidnapped alongside my brother in-law and another man on the 24th of May 2026, on their way to Lagos from Kaduna along Kogi road, Obajana to be precise.
“Ransom was paid twice plus two bikes with other items. On the 30th of July, my brother in-law and the other man were released but my brother was killed.
“This is a whole level of pain that I still haven’t been able to process. No body to bury, no goodbye, nothing, just the cold reality that I am not going to see him again.
“Nigeria has happened to my family, the military and police failed us in so many ways. But in all we give God the glory, our joy is full, God is still God and forever will be. Rest in peace big bro, I love you and will miss you so much.”
