A military camouflage, a battle axe, some fake dollar notes totalling 3,000, charms, among others, were recovered by men of the Lagos State Police Command during the arrest of eight cultists and armed robbers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The state police command announced the arrest on its verified X handle on Thursday, October 16, saying they were arrested at the Odogunyan area of the town.

The command gave the names of those arrested as Fadiya Ayodele, Lawal Rasheed, Akerele Damilare, Alimi Victor, Okiki Alufoge, Nurudeen Dolapo, Agboola Samuel and Ayolade Victor.

According to the command, while acting on credible intelligence, on Wednesday, October 15, the Bullock Tactical Team stormed their hideout around 5:30 a.m. and apprehended the eight men who were said to be planning nefarious criminal activities.

The command wrote: “During preliminary interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area. He further revealed that he had previously handed over a locally-made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently at large. Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.”

Those arrested were said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
