A secondary school vice principal who was declared missing while embarking on a trip on his motorcycle in Katsina State has been found killed while the bike and other belongings were taken away.
The man, Aminu Abubakar, the vice principal of a school in Malumfashi, a town in the state, was on the trip along the Malumfashi-Gora Road on Saturday when his whereabouts became unknown.
However, when his family members conducted a search for him, his body was found on Sunday morning in a forest area, bearing signs of killing while his motorcycle and belongings were taken away by his killers.
A source close to the area told Impact Nigeria News Online on Sunday evening that the distraught family took his body away and conducted burial in accordance with Islamic rites on Sunday afternoon.
In a related development, gunmen suspected to be bandits andloyal to Kachalla Muhammad Yayi on Saturday afternoon attacked Maruji community in Mazoji Ward, Matazu Local Government Area of the same Katsina State.
The marauders killed one resident, looted homes, carted away foodstuffs and set shops and a vehicle ablaze before leaving with an unspecified number of residents.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents, killing some and abducting others.
While many of the bandits and terrorists are having a field day carrying out the attacks unchallenged, the governments of the various states in the North-West as well as security agencies seem to be looking the other way.
