Some bandits on Thursday evening invaded a community in Zamfara State, burnt four residents alive inside their homes and destroyed foodstuffs and livestock.
The bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the Gwargwaba village in Nahuce District, Bungudu Local Government Area of the state, and launched a vicious attack on the residents.
A source close to the authorities of the local government told Impact Nigeria News Online on Saturday morning that during the attack, the marauders set fire on various houses and in the process, four residents trapped in their homes were burnt to death.

They also destroyed foodstuffs and livestock in the community before they went away with some community members as captives.
The source said the attack followed the alleged refusal of the residents to pay the levies imposed on them by the bandits after many days given to them to pay up.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents in various communities.
In some instances, the bandits impose levies on residents running into millions of naira and refusal to pay always end in devastating consequences.
However, as the bandits and terrorists have field days attacking residents, state governments and security agencies seem helpless in addressing the menace.
