Controversial Afrobeat artist, Naira Marley has been fined N200,000 by an Abuja court for flouting lockdown protocols when he performed in the city in June.
The artist was fined by Magistrate Idayat Akanni, after he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) had filed a four-count charge against him for hosting a concert in Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja in June.
After reporting to the police in Lagos, Marley was whisked away to Abuja where he was arraigned before an Abuja mobile court on Friday August 7, 2020.
Meanwhile, Jabi Lake Mall which hosted the event was sealed by authorities while Executive Jets Services, the airline which lifted him from Lagos had their license suspended.
