President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Babtunde Afeez Akinteye, on Saturday, June 6, appointed 39 aides who he said are to assist him in running the affairs of the foremost students body in the country.
In a statement on Saturday, he announced the appointments of two personal assistants, head of his domestic affairs, 24 persons he described as ‘directors’ as well as others.
He named Odunlami Babatunde and Salami Rasheed as his personal assistants and also Adeleke Qowiyy Taiwo as the Head of Domestic Affairs.
He also named Adegoke Naheen Ademola as his ‘Chief of Staff,’ Alo Alex as the Principal Private Secretary; Ogunjimi Tolulope James as Chief Press Secretary; Olusesi Tolulope Samson as Deputy Chief of Staff and Ajibade Qudus as Head of Media and Publicity.
The names of some of the ‘Directors’ are Adejorin Tai Manuel, Director of Students Empowerment; Saleeman Yusuf Issah Director of Strategy and Programmes; Oni Olasunkanmi, Director of Welfare and Logistics and Daniel Oyeniyi, Director of Diaspora and International Students Affairs.
Others were Folorunso Olawale Peter, Director of Social and Culture; Ekundina Elvis, Director of Administrative Engagement; Joshua Balogun, Director of Digital Media; Fabiyi Opeyemi, Director of Photography; Adegoke Stephen, Director of Movement and Transportation.
Also on the list are Emmanuel S. Amos, Director of Private Institutions Affairs; Akinkuowo Fisayomi Abimbola, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs; Nduka Chibueze, Director of Campus Peace and Conflict Resolution; Abdullahi Adamu Kuli, Director of Environmental and Sustainable Initiatives; Onovughegor Augustine; Director of Health and Bakare Dayo, Director of Political Affairs and Civic Engagement.
He also named Jibrin Yau Kafin as Director of Peace and Conflict Resolution; Erland Lois Maude, Director of Entrepreneurship; Adejoke Ajao Oluwaseyi, Director of Finance, Logistics and Special Duties as well as Mahmud Said, Director of Internal Affairs and Nwosu Evans Chiso, as Director of Hostel Accommodation.
The NANS president also named “Special Advisers” and among them are Akinyele Lemuel, SA on Programmes and Project Monitoring; Abubakar Sadiq, Special Adviser on Inter-Zonal Affairs; Abdulsalam Kazeem, SA on Special Needs (Persons with Disability).
He said he expected the appointments, which take ‘immediate effect,’ will make his administration to do its best in ensuring Nigerian students are served well.
