The National Christian Elders’ Forum (NCEF) after an emergency meeting insists that the person who authorised the deployment of troops to protesting youths during the #EndSARS protests should be court-marshaled for murder.

Along with this, the forum strongly suggested renegotiation of Nigeria; these resolutions were reached and signed by the forum’s secretary, Bosun Emmanuel.

The resolution of the meeting titled, ‘#EndSARS – It is time to renegotiate Nigeria,’ was of the notion that the country’s political imbalance birthed sorrow, poverty, and death for Nigerians.

It also stated that the unfair and sectional political structure introduced by the British colonialists was no longer sustainable, citing that the country is due for a re-negotiation.

In addition to this, the forum noted that the #EndSARS protests in the country was mishandled by the Buhari-led administration adding that all the lives lost are Nigerians and such incident was uncalled for.

The forum opined that the government should take advantage of the protesters rejecting the operation of the police brutality to introduce State Police.

NCEF noted that full inquiry into the causes of death and destruction that trailed the peaceful #EndSARS protests should be embarked upon by the National Assembly, adding that government must be fully investigated for the role played by security agents in transporting, and supervising vandals and thugs to attack the protesters.
