A Nigerian living in the United Kingdom, Mr Herbert Tamgbo, died suddenly last week on the same day his father was buried in Nigeria.

Sadly, Hebert died in his sleep in Thornaby and it was his three children who found him lifeless in the morning morning because his wife was away at that time. The youngest child is eight years old.

One of his friends who is a medical doctor announced his death on his X handle on Friday evening, saying Hebert died last week, adding that his sister-in-law broke the news to him during a phone call.

The death was also announced by a member of the Nigerians in UK organisation, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby.

According to the friend, a few days before his death, he was dealing with the pain of losing his father in Nigeria. He could not travel for the burial, but gave everything he had financially to ensure his father had a dignified burial.

He wrote: “Then the unimaginable happened. Herbert passed away on the very day his father was laid to rest in Nigeria. To make it even more heartbreaking, his children were the ones who found him that morning because his wife was away at that time. No child should ever experience that.”

Oluomo of Derby also wrote: “This is an incredibly painful and heartbreaking situation for his family. We are appealing to everyone and please let’s come together to support his wife during this difficult time.”
