Christmas is a time for spending quality time with family and loved ones, and Nigerians are not sparing any effort to make it memorable.
Across Instagram, X, Facebook, and other social media platforms, many Nigerians shared how they are celebrating Christmas 2025, giving followers intimate glimpses of their festive holiday moments.
The photographs from celebrities like Nollywood actors and actresses, media professionals, gospel artistes, celebrity fashion designers, businessmen and women, and public office-holders show them in matching pyjamas, grand family portraits, bright outfits, and Christmas-themed attire, capped off with beautifully-designed Christmas tree decorations.
The common themes in these photographs are coordinated family outfits, festive headbands, among others, with many going on out in bold, colourful designs, predominantly in the white, red, and green colours associated with Christmas.
These photos fill the atmosphere across social media platforms with beauty, warmth, fun, and love, with many expressing joy and gratitude at the occasion of Christmas.
Celebrities who shared their family Christmas-themed photos include actress Kate Henshaw; actress Mercy Johnson with her husband and children; Nigerian bank executive and serial entrepreneur, Tony Elumelu and his family; Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, with his wife and children; Nollywood star and media personality, Tomike Adeoye with her husband and children.
Others were Nollywood couple, Ihuoma Ejiofor and Ibrahim Suleiman with their son, Keon; celebrity couple, Priscilla Mkambala and Juma Jux with their son, Rakeem; and Gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, with their children.
Others are actor Nosa Rex with his family; Nigerian music executive, Jude Okoye with his family; actress Tonto Dikeh and her son; actor Adeniyi Johnson with his family; Gospel singer Peterson Okopi and fashion entrepreneur, Prudent Gabriel with their son; Seyi Tinubu, lawyer, and the son of President Bola Tinubu, with his family.
Others who did the theme were actor Tobi Bakre with his family; Nigerian chef and two-time Guinness World Record Holder, Hilda Baci; actor Victor Nwaogu, aka Nkubi, with his family; Nollywood couple Stanley Nzediegwu and Blessing Obasi with their son; actor Kunle Remi and his wife and daughter, among others.
One cannot help but observe that unlike in previous years when only celebrities and their families shared their Christmas-themed photos, this year has seen many ordinary citizens involved in what may have become an annual Christmas ritual.
It was also observed that Egyptian footballer, Mohammed Salah, as has become his tradition, shared a Christmas family photo, which showed him and his wife and two daughters sitting barefoot in matching plaid pyjamas beside a purple and silver Christmas tree.
The photograph, like in previous years, has sparked reactions and debates across social media about a Muslim acknowledging Christmas, a Christian celebration.
