Operation Kosaye arrests 147 during raid on hideouts in Lagos, recovers 250 already used cartridges, other weapons

As part of the activities of Operation Kosaye in the South-Western part of the country, men of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested 147 persons during raid on criminal hideouts in some areas of the city.

On Sunday, July 19, around 5:30 a.m., acting on credible intelligence, a joint team of operatives drawn from different formations of the command carried out the coordinated raid on criminal hideouts at Boolar, Super Ile-Epo, and other identified black spots the state.

The operation was also aimed at flushing out hoodlums and other criminal elements terrorising the area.

During the operation, apart from the arrest of the 147 persons, items recovered included 250 used cartridges, two knives, five battle axes, assorted charms, 22 machetes, substances suspected to be Indian hemp, among others.

According to the command in a statement on Monday, July 20, sll the arrested persons are currently in police custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their individual culpability.

“Those found to have committed criminal offences will be prosecuted accordingly, the statement added.
