The Council of Legal Education on Monday, August 17, announced the release of the May Bar final resit examination which indicated 45.3% pass rate and 54.7% failure rate.
The Council of Legal Education is the body that conducts examination for Law graduates at the various Nigerian Law Schools and also regulates legal practice in the country.
According to the council in a statement dated August 14, a total of 1,955 candidates sat for the May Bar final resit examination and out of the candidates, those who failed were more than those who passed.
It said out of the candidates, 885 passed outright while 55 got what it described as “Conditional Pass.” The figures represent pass rate of 45.3%
However, 983 candidates, representing 54.7%, failed the resit examination while 32 candidates were absent during the examination.
The council added that results of 19 candidates were withheld for reasons it did not disclose, just as it was gathered that those who passed the examination would soon be called to Bar.
