About a thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bogori Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
The local government area falls under the constituency of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who recently defected to the APC.
The APC chairman in Bogori LGA, Haruna Rikayar assured them that they would be treated equally.
He assured them that the APC would regain back power in the state, starting from the LG elections billed to hold in October 2020.
The supporters were led by Bulus Iliya, a loyalist of Dogara and who is also aspiring for Bogoro Chairmanship in the coming LG elections said they have decided to retrace their steps and come back home.
Bulus Iliya who regretted being formerly in the PDP said that the Dogara-led caucus were sidelined without any recognition given to them by the governor of the state, Bala Mohammed.
