Presidential candidate of the African Alliance Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Friday, October 30, alleged that he and his supporters were attacked in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during what he described as their campaign stop in the state.
In a series of posts on his X handle, Sowore wrote:
“We have been brutally attacked and injured by well armed government-sponsored thugs in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
“The DSS provided these attackers with our exact location, enabling them to carry out this vicious assault. We won’t back down! We have a country to liberate.
“Since our arrival yesterday, DSS operatives have been trailing and harassing us. They even threatened the manager of the first place where we ate, warning him never to allow us to use his premises again.”

“Today, shortly after I completed an interview at MIDAS FM 90.5 in Ado-Ekiti, the thugs descended on us in a violent attack, allegedly with the assistance of the DSS.”
