The African Action Congress (AAC) on Wednesday, October 21, wrote President Bola Tinubu, requesting permission to inaugurate its campaign council for its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, on November 11.

In a letter dated October 21 and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the party also demanded food, drinks and logistical support for 5,000 participants from Nigeria and abroad.

The AAC said its request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment, citing similar arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party insisted that public institutions like the presidential villa must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination and challenged the Tinubu administration to demonstrate its commitment to fairness and equal access.

“We look forward to your favourable consideration for this request and would appreciate information on the applicable procedures and conditions for its approval,” the party stated.
