The state police command announced the arrest on its Facebook page on Monday night, as it gave the names of those arrested as Muhammad Garba, Musa Garba and Hudu Mailu.
According to the command, operatives from Garki, Fagam, and Maigatari Divisional Headquarters apprehended the three drug dealers during coordinated intelligence-led raids across the state.
“The operations, which were conducted on October 18, led to the arrest of the suspects who have long been on the police radar for their involvement in the distribution of illicit substances within Jigawa State and beyond,” the command stated.
During their arrest, the police operatives were said to have recovered 23,944 assorted illicit drugs.
The recovered drugs were Exol (13,505 pieces ),  D5  (1,583 pieces), Tramadol (3,572 pieces),  Diazepam (565 pieces), Rubber Solution (2,469 pieces), Indian Hemp (five blocks and 886 wraps), Suck and Die, Farin Malam (340 pieces), other assorted hard drugs and intoxicating substances (1,042 pieces).
The command described the seizure as one of the largest anti-drug operations in recent times in the state.
It added that the men had given more useful information to the police operatives in custody and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
