A former Senator, Dino Melaye, on Sunday, October 19, said the current administration of President Bola Tinubu is not practicing democracy but what he described as “greediocracy.”
Melaye disclosed this on his verified X handle, saying the Tinubu’s administration is “government of the greedy by the greedy and for the greedy.”
According to Melaye, the current administration is full of greedy people who don’t bother about the poverty situation in the country, as they are more interested in grabbing whatever comes their way.
He said the Nigeria of everyone’s dream is when the leaders start practising democracy in its lucid interpretation which he said is government of the people by the people and for the people.
Melaye, who described himself as a “legal practitioner, democratic evangelist and public analyst,” added that unless the best form of government is practised in a better way, Nigerians will continue to wallow in abject poverty while a few people in corridors of power will continue to loot the common wealth and exhibit greed.
He wrote: “The Nigeria of our dream is when we start practising democracy in its lucid interpretation, government of the people by the people, and for the people.
“What we have right now is greediocracy; government of the greedy by the greedy and for the greedy.”
