Key Barcelona figures have doubts about the benefit of signing Antoine Griezmann, leaving the World Cup-winning star’s future uncertain and potentially opening the way to a Manchester United move.
While some at Camp Nou are enthusiastic about the prospect, the leadership is not unanimous about the 28-year-old and feels money could better be spent elsewhere in what is going to be a busy summer.
That could leave Griezmann with a big decision to make, and sources said communication has been re-established with United, and a deal is possible.
There is also an ongoing link due to his brother’s support for the Premier League club, with his family also influential among his entourage.
Manchester City and Real Madrid aren’t interested in Griezmann, and Juventus would not be able to afford him.

Meanwhile Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does want a player on the right, especially with the move for Jadon Sancho now having fallen apart. Money could also be freed by the likely sale of Romelu Lukaku to Internazionale, with prospective new manager Antonio Conte having named the Belgian as a top target should he get the job.
That may all depend on Inter confirming Champions League qualification this weekend, but they are newly flush with money this summer. They may also take Alexis Sanchez off United.
Some key figures in European football even believe that Old Trafford is Griezmann’s most likely next destination.
The deal would similarly have the benefit of keeping Paul Pogba happy amid strong interest from Real Madrid, due to his close friendship with Griezmann.
