US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the move by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to embark on his impeachment once again is tremendously annoying and dangerous.
The president warned both lawmakers to desist from their “terrible” path, because he does not want violence.
On Monday, the Nancy Pelosi-led US House of Representatives introduced the article for Trump’s second impeachment.
The President had said severally times that his rally speech before the Capitol riots meant no harm and also denied he triggered the deadly attack.
As he headed to the border wall in Alamo, Texas, Trump told reporters “I want no violence.”
“They’ve analysed my speech, my words and my final paragraph, my final sentence and everybody just thought it was totally appropriate,” Trump said.
“This impeachment is causing tremendous anger and they’re doing it, and it’s really a terrible thing that they’re doing for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to continue on this path.
“I think it’s causing tremendous danger to our country, and it’s causing tremendous anger, I want no violence.”
Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence has rejected call by the House of Representatives to invoke 25th Amendment for Trump removal from office.
“With just eight days left in the President’s term, you and the Democratic caucus are demanding that the Cabinet and I invoke the 25th Amendment. I do not believe that such a course of action is in the best interest of our nation or consistent with our Constitution,” Pence wrote.
