Armed bandits struck Gidan Tamba village in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State on the night of June 29, killing two residents and abducting four others.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported the incident on Monday via X, stating the attack occurred around 10:45 p.m. when the assailants stormed the village, firing indiscriminately.
One victim, 60-year-old Ashiru Shafiu, was shot dead on the spot. Another, Suleiman Yusuf, also 60, reportedly collapsed from shock during the raid and later died of a heart attack. Both were confirmed dead at the General Hospital in Kankara.
The attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, kidnapped four villagers: Kazeem Nuhu, Shafiu Aliyu, Rama Dan Mallam, and Ummah Abdulwahab. They escaped into the forest with their captives shortly after the assault.
