Ali Dalori, the newly appointed acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially assumed office with a commitment to promote transparency, inclusivity, and unity within the ruling party. Dalori, who previously served as the party’s deputy national chairman (North-East), took charge following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje last Friday.
Speaking on Monday during a meeting with the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja, Dalori acknowledged the directive from President Bola Tinubu to oversee party affairs and described his appointment as a responsibility, not a personal victory.
“We are all aware of the significant contributions Ganduje made during his tenure. He provided our party with experienced leadership, steadfast commitment and a clear sense of direction,” Dalori said, extending well wishes to his predecessor, who cited health and personal matters in his resignation.
Dalori emphasized the need for internal consolidation ahead of the 2027 elections, urging party members to avoid division and remain focused on delivering good governance. “This is a period for consolidation, not conflict; for maturity, not division; and for vision, not personal ambition,” he said.
He pledged the APC’s continued support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, calling it a “living roadmap” to address Nigeria’s pressing economic and security challenges. He also announced plans to unveil a practical roadmap for the party’s interim leadership, focusing on discipline, reconciliation, communication, and grassroots mobilisation.
Dalori called for renewed commitment from party members, urging them to work with sincerity and unity to safeguard the APC’s future.
