It was the end of the road for two members of a kidnapping gang who abducted three military recruits while they were travelling after their passing out as they have been arrested by men of the Kebbi State Police Command.
The two gang members, Abubakar Mallan Abubakar and Usman Muhammadu, were arrested on August 1 in what was described as a targeted operation based on credible intelligence.
The three newly passed-out military recruits were said to have been abducted along the Anka/Bukuyum Road in Zamfara State last month while they were returning to Kebbi State.
During preliminary investigation after their arrest, one of them made useful disclosures regarding the abduction of the three military recruits.
Incidentally, the three recruits are from Kebbi State and according to information, one of them is from Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area while the other two are from Zuru Local Government Area. They have since regained their freedom.
After the preliminary interrogation, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
