Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who died on Sunday at the age of 66, will be buried on Monday, August 24, in Ilaro, Ogun State.
The Chief Imam of Ilaro, while officially announcing the death of the actor, said the Islamic burial rites would be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Asade Agunloye pavilion.
The news of Ogogo’s death was earlier announced on Sunday evening by his daughter, Kira, during an Instagram Live session. “My daddy is dead. I can’t believe it,” she said.
Ogogo, who was one of the respected figures in the Yoruba movie industry, had been battling stage-four cancer in recent months.
Ogogo’s death came hours after Kira had spoken publicly about the challenges surrounding her father’s illness and accused some individuals of attempting to profit from the family’s difficult situation.
During an emotional TikTok Live session on Saturday, she alleged that some people had approached the family with financial demands while offering assistance with the actor’s treatment.
