Two men who stole a vehicle in Niger State about six months ago and used it for criminal activities including robbery in both Kaduna and Kano states have given men of the Niger State Police Command details of their activities.
The two men, Dauda Saidu, aged 23 years and Hassan Aliyu, aged 28 years, were arrested in Kano municipality following credible information received about their criminal activities.
During their interrogation in Kano, they confessed that the vehicle used in committing the crime was stolen by them in Lapai area of Niger State.
This made the Kano Police Command to invite their counterparts from Niger State and on receipt of the invitation, police operatives attached to Lapai Divisional Headquarters moved to Kano State.
On arrival, the officers from Niger State interrogated the men more regarding how they stole the vehicle and they stated that about six months ago, they conspired and went away with the Volkswagen Golf car.
They added that the vehicle was taken to Kaduna State and they had been using it for various criminal activities, including robbery, between Kaduna and Kano before the long arm of the law caught up with them in Kano.
They were eventually brought to the command’s headquarters in Minna, the Niger State capital, while the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation into the matter.
