Men of the Jigawa State Police Command are currently unravelling the circumstances surrounding the death of a 60-year-old man inside a hotel room shortly after lodging with a 20-year-old lady.
The command said the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 21, around 1:00 p.m. at a hotel in Dutse, the state capital, when the 60-year-old man (names withheld), who had checked into the facility in the company of a 20-year-old lady suddenly developed a medical emergency and started gasping for air shortly after spending time together.
The hotel management was alerted and raced to the scene after which they made a distress call to the police.
Upon receiving the distress call, police officers attached to the Yalwawa Divisional Headquarters went to the hotel and rushed him to the General Hospital, Dutse, where he was certified dead by the doctor on duty.
Police officers thereafter secured the scene and conducted a preliminary examination.
During the exercise, some food items, beverages, a sexual enhancement drug and other personal effects were recovered inside the hotel room.
“Following medical certification of death and the completion of the necessary procedures, the remains of the man were released to his family for burial in accordance with their request,” the command said in a statement late on Tuesday night.
Also, the 20-year-old lady who was present at the time of the incident is currently assisting with investigators and has provided useful information that led to the incident.
