Some Nigerians on Sunday took to the social media platforms to query the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, regarding how he got the money for seven 2026 Toyota Prado Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) which he said he distributed to “committed and selected youths leaders.”

According to information on auto website, a 2026 Toyota Prado SUV costs about N150 million and that means the seven vehicles he distributed cost over N1 billion.

Dayo Israel had, earlier on Sunday, posted on his X handle about the development, saying the vehicles were meant for what he described as”election mobilisation activities.

He wrote: “Today, I presented brand new 2026 Prado to my committed selected youth leaders to aid their election mobilisation activities.

“I am grateful to my mummy, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, for her continuous support to the party structure under my leadership. The party is supreme and that supremacy will show in our action in this election period – we will deliver polling unit by polling unit.”

However, shortly after making the post with the accompanying vehicles, some Nigerians blasted him, saying he was making unnecessary post at a time when many Nigerians are struggling to live.

@idofoi wrote: “You are a complete disgrace to the APC. What you are doing is nothing short of deliberate sabotage of the party’s image at a critical time. Senator Remi Tinubu, I strongly urge you to publicly disassociate yourself from this individual. He has become a total liability to the APC and a poor reflection of President Bola Tinubu.

“Why choose this moment to flaunt such nonsense on social media, repeatedly shouting “Mummy, Mummy”? You have contributed virtually nothing positive to this party beyond bringing repeated embarrassment, controversy, and disgrace. APC chairman, please call this person to order immediately.”

Ologunwa Temitope wrote: “Nigerians are struggling every day with the hardship that followed the removal of the fuel subsidy, and people are working tirelessly just to survive. Yet an APC youth leader thinks flaunting a 2026 Prado is a good idea? Are you people this insensitive? People have sacrificed so much, and your actions are making it harder for others to defend your party. You cannot ask people to endure hardship while flaunting luxury in their faces. Read the room.”

Yemi Jacob: “Mr Dayo, what do you want to achieve by posting this? I could remember when the children and teachers were kidnapped in Oyo State, when everybody was attacked by the opposition, what did you do?

“You were posting about ajo, how someone has taken your Ajo money and travel to Canada, you were called out, you did not tender any apology for your insensitivity, now this.”

J. A. Olaoye wrote: “Can you imagine this nonsense? You guys are naturally not smart. Take out violence and ballot fraud, you guys are not getting any votes..”

Adeye Isaac Adebowale: “The total amount of the Prado SUVs would have completely upgraded UCH and solve more problems and place the hospital where it belongs. Nigerians should keep buying fuel at N1,350 while government functionaries extravagantly spends on frivolities.”

@TimedFrank wrote: “This guy here is the Chair of the Governing Board of FMC Abeokuta. FMC is short for Federal Medical Centre. He didn’t post that he distributed brand new AMBULANCES to FMCs around the country that would eventually serve MILLIONS of Nigerians and help save lives. Nope!

“He is posting with CONFIDENCE and TEMERITY that he distributed BRAND NEW SUVs to some youth for MOBILIZATION. MOBILIZATION oh!

“In his mind, he’s doing “pepper dem” City Boy Movement people that they are in rivalry with while helpless Nigerians are collateral damage.

“Dear Nigerians, you now see why Wike said Peter Obi is too stingy. The Peter Obi I know will NEVER allow this bad optics fly in his administration. Youth, TAKE BACK YOUR COUNTRY.”
