The wife of a man who was shot to death by two armed robbers and who went away with his motorcycle after committing the heinous act has identified the two men during parade of suspects by the Bauchi State Police Command.
According to reports, on December 16, the Bununu Divisional Headquarters of the command received an information that around 4:00 p.m., one Sirajo Abdulhamid, aged 32 years, was riding a motorcycle to Burga village and conveying two females: Khadija Abdulhamid, his wife and Asiya Sirajo, his wife’s friend.
However, during journey, they were attacked by the armed robbers who shot Abdulhamid in the head and went away with the motorcycle.
Upon receipt of the call, a team of detectives, in collaboration with Danga Security and special hunters, went to the scene, rushed the man to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, for medical attention. The man later died while receiving treatment in the hospital.
According to a statement by the state police command on Tuesday, December 30, preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the robbers whose names were given as Isah Shuaibu, aged 18 years and Abdulsalam Shuaibu, aged 20 years.
“An identification parade was conducted, during which the wife of the man identified the two men as those who attacked them and snatched the motorcycle,” the command added.
The two robbers were said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into their nefarious activities.
