Happy New Year, Fam!!!

I know today is already 9 days into the New Year, but it’s our first meeting for the year so New Year greetings are still in place (hehe). I trust you made the best of the Yuletide season?

Today, I’ll like to bring to your awareness something you probably already know. The year has started, in full force. And if you want to maximize this year to the fullest, then you better wake up already if you haven’t done so yet.

To some, the days are moving so fast, to some others, the days are dragging. Regardless of the side of the divide that you’re in, you can’t deny the fact that 2021 is here and each day has an equal number of hours – 24 hours, for everyone without discrimination. Just like in all the previous years, it’s not enough to fast and pray then sit and wait for the declarations made during 31st night crossover service to come through in your life. They will not happen unless you take the necessary actions. Faith without work is dead.

Last week Friday, every living being was gifted with a beautiful New Year – 2 0 2 1. January is the morning of the year and it’s important that you wake up and get going in the morning. A popular Igbo proverb says “mgbe onye ji teta ura bu ututu ya” which means “when a person wakes up is his/her morning”. However, a wise youth understands that when (s)he plans her days, weeks and months ahead and begins to implement those plans early in the morning, (s)he’ll cover much ground and beat any eventuality that shows up at noon. If you have goals and dreams you intend to achieve this year, now is the time to get started on them. Don’t wait for a perfect time because it doesn’t exist. Don’t wait to have all the necessary resources because you may wait forever. This is the morning of the year, waking up now to work on your dreams will give you so much advantage. Give no room to procrastination this year. Even Christ emphatically said, “The night cometh when no man shall work.” So don’t think that it doesn’t matter when you wake up.

Every year is a wrapped package, no one can fully tell its content. You unwrap and utilize the gift of a New Year by waking up early, staying alert, and actively working on your goals against any odds. Some people have the habit of keeping wrapped packages unopened for so long, waiting for a perfect time before they unveil it. They carry the same attitude towards unwrapping a New Year. Such ones are still sleeping; they believe the year is still early for them to start working on their 2021 goals.  They fail to realize that the year is timebound. Nonetheless, whether we wake up or not, the days keep going by. Today is the 9th day already… and before you know it, January is gone. So wake up already, it is morning!

It is important that you wake up early because you can’t get anything done while you’re still sleeping. Well, except you have put in place some systems and automated processes to take place while you sleep. If that isn’t the case, then you better wake up now. In this New Year, please don’t be among those who’ll leave 2021 tied up in its gift wrappers. Open it up by starting early to work on your goals for the year. Begin to implement those beautiful thoughts and plans you have for 2021. The best time to start is NOW.

As you wake up early, may your dreams come true and may you end the year fruitful and fulfilled on every side. Welcome to 2021!
