15 international passports recovered from one chance robbers who abducted lady, demanded N1 million ransom

Fifteen international passports belonging to different people were among the items recovered from four young men who used vehicles to engage in robbery, in one is popularly known as “One chance,” at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The FCT Police Command announced the development in a statement on its X handle on Sunday, saying the four men were arrested after abducting a lady in their tinted vehicle and thereafter demanded for the sum of N1 million as ransom.

The command gave their names as Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph and Emmanuel Chidiebere, adding that two of their victims were rescued during their arrest.

According to the command, on October 8 at about 10:09 p.m., its operatives received a report at Life Camp Police Station that a victim had called in distress, alleging that she had been abducted by suspected criminals who demanded a ransom of ₦1 million for her release.

“Upon receipt of the report, police operatives from Life Camp Division immediately swung into action. Through the deployment of digital and tactical intelligence, on 9th October 2025, at about 4:30 a.m., the suspects were arrested at Dape Village after a near-deadly confrontation with the police. “Two victims were rescued during the operation. However, one of them, who sustained multiple stab wounds inflicted by the suspects, was promptly rushed to Gwarinpa General Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. ”

The command added that at the point of their arrest, items recovered from them included  15 international passports, two sharp daggers, two cutlasses, bloodstained documents, four mobile phones, two hammers, among others.

It was also gathered that during their interrogation, they were found to have been involved in a series of one-chance robberies around the Bannex and Kado areas, using a vehicle with tinted windows to deceive unsuspecting passengers.
