A man collapsed and eventually died while eating a meal at the house of his female friend and the lady has been arrested by men of the Niger State Police Command.

The man, Abdulfatai Aiyede, aged 53 years, was said to have paid a visit to his female friend, Stella Joseph, aged 25 years, on January 27 around 10:00 a.m. at Niteco Road, Tunga, Minna, the state capital.

It was gathered that after his arrival, the female friend served him food and in the course of eating the meal, the man convulsed and later collapsed.

Following the development, a distress call was made by one of the neighbours to the Tudun Wada Divisional Headquarters of the command and police officers raced to the scene.

He was said to have been rushed to a hospital by the officers where doctors on duty confirmed him dead on arrival. The female friend was eventually arrested by the operatives.

She was said to have given more information about the incident while the remains of the man are being examined to ascertain the cause of his death.
