Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his ‘sworn enemy,’ former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, met on Sunday, November 9, at the residence of the former president in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Fayose, according to sources close to Impact News online, was in the Ogun State capital to intimate the former president about his forthcoming 65th birthday and to invite Obasanjo as the chairman of the event.
Fayose’s 65th birthday ceremony is expected to be held on November 15, 2025. He was born on November 15, 1960.
Fayose was said to have arrived at the home of the former president around 2:00 p.m. to the warm embrace of Obasanjo and after a brief meeting about his mission, he sat with Obasanjo at one of the rooms in the building where the former president played the game of ayo with one of his friends.
Thereafter, Obasanjo took him round some other places in the house before Fayose eventually left after spending about two hours in the house.
It would be recalled that Fayose had been at dagger’s drawn with Obasanjo whom he accused of masterminding his impeachment as the Ekiti State Governor on October 16, 2006.
